I teach guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, and dobro over Zoom. Adult beginners and returning players are welcome.
Bring a song you want to learn, or a part you’re trying to work out for your band. We can work on the playing and look at how the chords and parts fit together.
If you already play another instrument, we can draw on what you know as you learn steel or dobro.
I’ve completed Berklee Online certificate programs in jazz guitar and in music theory, ear training, and harmony.
What we can work on
Guitar
All levels welcome. Rock, blues, country, jazz, and Americana. Technique, theory, and the specific vocabulary of each style.
Pedal Steel
Technique, chord movement, and the mechanics of the instrument. All levels.
Lap Steel
Blues, Hawaiian, country, and western swing styles. Technique, phrasing, repertoire, and playing with overdrive.
Dobro
Squareneck resonator guitar played in lap position — bluegrass, country, blues, and Americana styles. Not bottleneck slide.
